Type size is derived, not chosen: it is the line height divided by the font's cap height, so a capital letter fills the line exactly. That is why the same preset produces a different point size in each handwriting style — see the measured proportions table.
Check your printer isn't scaling
This is the one thing that quietly ruins practice sheets: browsers and print dialogs default toFit to Page, which shrinks a 3/4-inch line to about 0.71 inch. The letters still look fine — they're just the wrong size for the hand they were made for.

Measure it. It must be exactly 3 inches (76.2 mm).
If it's short, set scaling to 100% / Actual Size — not "Fit", not "Shrink to fit" — and print again.
On screen this bar is not 3 inches — screens have their own scaling. It only means anything on paper.
